Working to pioneer the development of disruptive, non-invasive technology to directly query disease activity inside the body, Glympse Bio was rapidly outgrowing their incubator space within LabCentral. When they found 25,000 SF of space at the Alewife Research Center in West Cambridge, they knew it would be the perfect location for their headquarters. The space includes high-tech research labs, workspaces, conference and huddle rooms, a kitchenette, as well as a shell lab and office space that they are planning to sublease until they outgrow the current areas.
To accommodate low ceiling heights, and meet the expedited timeline, Wise spent time preplanning the project using a design-assist approach. This method brings the entire project team, including key subcontractors, together during design to plan on how to provide maximum value from the conceptual stage through project execution. This ultimately increased efficiency while reducing schedule, but it created a 23% reduction in coordination-based RFI’s, resulting in zero change orders for the project.
