Office to cGMP – Wise Chosen for Factor Biosciences Cambridge Facility

When Factor Bioscience needed a new space for their cGMP facility, research labs, and offices, they knew Wise’s expertise in conversions would lead to a successful project.

As a developer of technologies for engineering cells to advance the study and treatment of disease, Factor needed the facility to house two ISO7 clean rooms, an ISO8 clean room supply and return space, a CNC BL2 lab, along with all associated office and support areas. To stay in the competitive Cambridge market, Factor found a space that was previously only used for office, requiring significant infrastructure work to accommodate the sensitive environment, including a new rooftop unit, generator, exhaust fan and all associated supporting steel dunnage.

This project is being completed on a design build approach, working closely with Factor Bioscience, RW Sullivan and DPS Group to finalize design throughout construction. This approach allows for transparent communication between all parties which lends itself to faster project delivery, which will be key to getting Factor Bioscience into their new space as quickly and seamlessly as possible meeting their production goals. The project is currently set to be completed in early April.
