Assistant  Superintendent
The Assistant Superintendent has the secondary responsibility for the field operations for and reports to the Superintendent. Responsible for all field activities associated with the project, including supervision of all field construction work by subcontractors and self-performed work. The assistant superintendent shares responsibility with the Superintendent for maintaining the project budget and schedule with a major emphasis on safety, client satisfaction and quality.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain constant quality control on all phases of job, notifying superintendent of any issues
  • Keep superintendent informed on subcontractor personnel and work progress
  • Prepare and maintain site for safety compliance in accordance with Wise Construction’s safety program
  • Update of Record drawings with RFIs, Sketches, & ASIs/Bulletins
  • Maintains and develops positive relationships with clients, subcontractors, vendors and other employees. 

Requirements

  • Associates degree or higher
  • Previous supervisory experience
  • 3+ years of experience
  • Strong leadership skills and a commitment to excellence
  • Good communication skills required; good interpersonal and organizational skills mandatory.
  • Strong computer skills in Microsoft Office 

Construction Superintendent
The Construction Superintendent coordinates all site construction activities and supervises all field personnel as required to successfully complete the project on schedule and within budget.  This includes maintaining the highest quality, supervising all trade and field personnel, while administering the highest construction safety practices with all on-site activities.  The superintendent also shares the responsibility with the project manager for participating in the preconstruction phase, and manages and mentors assistant superintendents and other field personnel.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinates and supervises all construction activities.
  • Directs all field personnel to keep project on schedule and within budget
  • Coordinate with subcontractors to ensure efficiency, quality, and contractual compliance
  • Maintains construction schedule, identifies and solves problems and submits weekly “3 week look-ahead” schedules
  • Coordination with buildings facilities personnel.
  • Review drawings and project requirements with Project Manager
  • Layout and MEP coordination
  • Reviews procurement and orders materials as necessary throughout the project.
  • Creates a working relationship with the building and MEP inspectors to manage the  inspection process for the project
  • Maintains and develops positive relationships with clients, subcontractors, vendors and other employees
  • Updates the project team with weekly jobsite photos
  • Prepare and maintain site for safety compliance in accordance with Wise Construction’s safety program
  • Promotes job site safety, encourages safe work practices and rectifies job site hazards immediately
  • Maintains a clean and organized jobsite

Qualifications

  • Experience in supervisory position in construction, including healthcare and biotechnology construction. (all levels of experience will be considered).
  • Maintain a current MA Construction Supervisors license and OSHA 30-Hour training certificate.
  • ASHE certification preferred.
    Knowledge of building construction means and methods, scheduling, cost control, plans and specifications.
  • Strong leadership skills and a commitment to excellence
  • Good communication skills required; good interpersonal and organizational skills mandatory
  • Strong computer skills in Microsoft Office
