Thomspon Island Expedition Center

Construction of the new 9,500sf Lewis Expedition Center on Thompson Island in Boston Harbor. The project posed several challenges unique to working at an island location including the transport of personnel, equipment and materials, addressing permitting and compliance issues, working with state and local agencies, selecting skilled subcontractors capable of working at remote site, and upgrading and installing infrastructure to support the new construction. The Expedition center is being used as the convening area for all outward Bound Expeditions.
